John first started working in Oakland real estate in the mid 1970s and has been with Valva Realty for more than 10 years.
Following college graduation, he went into the Peace Corps and served two two-year terms, first in Ecuador and then in Senegal. The Spanish that he learned in the Peace Corps has served him well in dealing with Bay Area clients.
Work assignments lead to extensive International locations and a variety of work disciplines. His first venture into the real estate world was on a part time basis while working as a high school teacher in Oakland. In the beginning, John worked exclusively with residential clients. In recent years, he has diversified and also now works with income and commercial properties.
